Wooly loved her big soft cloud of wool. It curled soft as clouds, warm and thick. She rolled and tumbled, soft as a pillow.
One day, the farmer brought out the shears. She ran to hide, but was found. She closed her eyes and stayed brave.
Soft wool fell around her, like quiet snow. Without her wool, Wooly felt small and strange. Her legs felt light, quick, and strangely free.
Light and new, she leapt higher than ever. Now she ran faster than any lamb. New wool would grow, soft as before.
Underneath, Wooly was still exactly herself.
